About the Author

Dr. Anthony E. Schwaller has been working in the field of automotive technology and teaching about technology for 35 years. During his teaching career he received the "Distinguished Technology Educator Award" in 1990, the "Special Recognition Award" from ITEA in 1995, and was selected as the Technology Teacher Educator of the Year" in 1997 fro the Council for Technology Teacher Education. He also received the "Outstanding Research Award" in 2003 for his research on Modular Technology in the classroom. During his teaching career, he as worked for Allis Chalmers, General Motors, Eastern Illinois University, and St. Cloud State University where he is now professor and department head. He has written over 50 articles in professional journals, written ten textbook in the automotive technology and related fields, and has given more than 50 presentations on topics in the fields of automotive, transportation, energy technology, and instructional strategies.
