Whether the path is a municipal agency or a federal organization, there is advice here that is well worth listening to. Most of what you find in this book will not be presented in a training academy. You may not like some of what you have read here, but just remember that the experiences presented here are real. What you will read is a harsh testament to the reality of police patrol.
Obtaining the badge is not difficult, especially today; keeping the badge is a challenge. This book was written as a survival map to get officers from the police academy to the pension line.

About the Author

John Corley was born in South Florida and entered the United States Marine Corps in 1979. After the Marines, John joined the City of Miami Beach Police Department in South Florida. John completed 25 years with the police department. John had the opportunity to work assignments in patrol, crime suppression, auto-crimes, narcotics, and S.W.A.T. John is a third-generation police officer.
