About the Author

Michele Sare has been an RN for 34 years. The role of nurse educator has dominated her career. She has had the privilege of working in developing countries, six states, in resource challenged settings and in healthcare settings with abundant resources. She has worked in trauma care, public health, education, acute, transitional, disability and long term care, policy development, contract nursing, rural and frontier nursing, school nursing, nursing administration and even camp nursing. Through her years as a professional nurse, and from her youthful years as a candy striper, a dental hygienist in the jungles of New Guinea and a nurse’s aid, she has seen and felt the privilege of what it means to provide care. With her children Rebecca and Jesse grown and successful, she now lives on her ranch in Southwest Montana with a bevy of horses, goats, dogs and sheep where she pursues her writing career to inspire and empower nurses to actualize their highest vision of care.

LeAnn Ogilvie has been a registered nurse for 16 years. The majority of her nursing career has been in critical care. Currently the lead clinical educator in an acute care facility, she also has experience as a clinical and distance learning instructor for a practical nursing program. She lives in western Montana with her husband and three sons.
