Description: This comprehensive book discusses the implementation of an intensive pharmaceutical care program in a community practice environment. It covers numerous issues that need to be addressed prior to starting an active pharmaceutical care program. It also introduces the reader to 13 extraordinary pharmacists who have developed, initiated, and maintained successful pharmaceutical care programs in their communities.
Purpose: The authors state that the book is to be used as a motivational resource by pharmacists to aid them in adopting and expanding their role as caregivers and communicators.
Audience: This is a useful resource for pharmacy students and pharmacists currently practicing in an ambulatory care/community environment. Pharmacy faculty can also use the book as a guide to teach students how to implement a successful pharmaceutical care program in the future.
