Purpose: The purpose is to provide an illustrative guide to cardiac surgery with an emphasis on new techniques and procedures. Since the last edition was published 21 years ago, this edition provides an outstanding review and update on cardiac surgery, including basic techniques, and expanded sections on minimally-invasive cardiac surgery and developments in the treatment in heart failure. This publication meets the objectives with beautifully represented illustrations and artwork.
Audience: It is intended for cardiac surgeons and cardiac surgery residents and fellows. The authors are leaders in the field of cardiac surgery.
Features: This book covers the full spectrum of cardiac surgery, ranging from operative management, surgical techniques, to postoperative management. The chapter on echocardiography complements the chapters on surgical technique.
