It is conveniently small enough to carry in a lab coat pocket and extensive enough to cover all relevant information about the management of valvular diseases. It is nicely formatted, using multiple colors and tables and figures with algorithms and guidelines/recommendations from scientific organizations like ACC/AHA/ASE. An accompanying website offers an ebook version.
Purpose: It is intended to provide quick, portable, and clinically oriented information on treating patients with valvular heart diseases. It is easy to read and provides accessible information that clinicians can apply to their clinical practices and students can use as a study guide for board examinations.
Audience: The audience includes interventional cardiologists, fellows, cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, sonographers, nurses, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. It is useful for clinicians taking care of cardiac patients both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The authors are well-recognized physician scientists and teachers.
