Rountree, Professor of Anthropology at Old Dominion University, is the author of Pocahontas’s People: The Powhatan Indians of Virginia through Four Centuries and the editor of Powhatan Foreign Relations, 1500–1722 (Virginia). Thomas E. Davidson is Chief Curator, Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation.
