Yann Martel is the author of the Man Booker Prize-winning Life of Pi, a religious and spiritual allegory that was adapted into a critically and commercially successful film of the same name. Aside from Life of Pi, Martel is also the author of The High Mountains of Portugal, Beatrice and Virgil, and Self, as well as a collection of stories The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios.
