Michael Cunningham (b. 1952) was raised in Los Angeles and lives in New York City. He is the author of the novels A Home at the End of the World, Flesh and Blood, The Hours (winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award and the Pulitzer Prize), Specimen Days, and By Nightfall, as well as Land’s End: A Walk in Provincetown. The Hours was chosen as a Best Book of 1998 by The New York Times and was the basis for a feature film.
