Gordon Rupert Dickson (1923 ¿ 2001) was a Canadian-American science fiction writer. He was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2000 and is best known for his Childe Cycle and Dragon Knight series. He has won three Hugo Awards and one Nebula Award. The first book in the Childe Cycle was published in 1960 as The Genetic General but was retitled Dorsai in 1976.
