Cynthia Rylant has used her experiences growing up in Appalachia to write over one hundred beautiful children’s books, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. She is the author of several series, including Annie and Snowball, Henry and Mudge, and Mr. Putter and Tabby. Her novel Missing May won the Newbery Medal in 1993 and A Fine White Dust was a Newbery Honor Book in 1987.
