They also meet several new friends who assist them with their mission & who reveal their individual stories about gold mining, the treatment of the First Nations people in the US, and their work helping to build the first US transcontinental railway.

Once the mission has ended, the group return to San Francisco & become entangled in a Tong War. Afterwards, Cheung returns to Canada to rescue his son.
