On his thirteenth birthday Snydur of the chave Pup flees his home in search of the thugs who have murdered and ravaged his beloved aunt. As was the custom, it had been her duty as his narshon to instruct him in the arts of intimacy. To find her murderers Snydur must leave the safety of his margin circle and move into the fascinating and perilous world that is Ysstrhm.
