common core and its adoption have caused a furor. many have not read the standards; many believe it life changing; many dread its application. like it or hate it, it is here and it impacts your child. this book needs to be an exchange between us, but the focus is you. no one has more impact on your child’ preparation to read, his desire to learn to read, his progress through the stages, and his enjoyment of the act, making it a life-long activity.

What was I thinking???? The first biography ----silly, inane, pompous! What nonsense--college, major, English teacher---even I don't care.
BUT I do care about kids. Most importantly, I care about kids' reading. My nine kids read. Their twenty kids read (or are in the process). And their nine children will read (hopefully, I'll be around to make sure).
