About the Author

Nicole Johnson is a Telly award-winning television journalist and writer. Her articles on living with diabetes and wellness have appeared in Guideposts Magazine, Diabetes Forecast, Diabetes Health, USA Today and on various websites related to diabetes. She has also written several books on diabetes related topics including Living With Diabetes and Nicole Johnson's Diabetes Recipe Makeovers.

Nicole serves on numerous diabetes advisory boards including the JDRF International Board of Directors and the Florida Governor's Diabetes Advisory Council. She is also a past national board member for the American Diabetes Association and a past appointee to the National Institutes of Health Council of Public Representatives.

Nicole is the Executive Director of Bringing Science Home in the College of Public Health at the University of South Florida. Through this multi-million dollar program Nicole oversees numerous research projects and national diabetes programs like Students With Diabetes and Diabetes Partners.

Nicole has a Doctor of Public Health degree and holds Master's degrees in Journalism and Public Health.
