You Won't Be Forgotten

In the age of the first human diaspora, a group of trans-human colonizers rejoice in celebration after succeeding in terraforming Aurora, the first extrasolar planet settled by humans. However, they must concede that their wit and courage alone weren't the sole reason for their success.
Centuries before, another mission was conceived by a group of religious zealots pursuing immortality and financed by the wealthy and powerful people of that time. The official historical records registered that early mission as a failure, even though inconclusive signs of Aurora's atmospheric changes have been known for years.
Once the Integral arrived at the Caelum system, a small team of humans was resuscitated into enhanced bodies to investigate the destiny of the first human expedition. This is what they found.

About the Author

Baltar Xinzo is the pen name of a writer and engineer who has embraced the freedom of writing fiction to jog the emotional intelligence of his readers. Xinzo speculative fiction is characterized by a dark tone, often qualified as sci-fi noir, but, unlike other exponents of this style, his stories are permeated by a sense of hope and human sensibility. In his fiction writings, he explores existentialist issues in the backdrop of genres such as cyberpunk, hard science fiction, trans-humanism, and trans-realism.
You may have realized that Baltar Xinzo is the pen name of a real human being, not a mere AI. He lives in Ottawa, Canada, with his wife and two lovely cats that make him company during his creative sessions. When not writing fiction, he is a research scientist, among other things.
