About the Author

Thomas MacGregor

I am a writer and author specialising in corporate communication. With my wife, Carolyn, we are the proud parents of two teenage kids who have moved through high school. They successfully graduated – but not without a lot of aggravation on their part – and ours. As a result we write under a nom de plume, because we don't want our children to be embarrassed by us sharing the intimate, trying, angry and often very explosive moments we have had as a direct result of the educative process. Writing under the cloak of anonymity also gives us the freedom to be honest and open about our experiences, our expectations of our kids and they of us, our thoughts and criticisms of schools, teachers and the education system, and our considered view of what the education system has done for our kids' futures. We are not educationalists, nor psychologists – rather we hope to provide a 'parents eye-view' of these trying years.
