You Love To Cook and so do I. I am a southern girl reared in a loving home with a mom who cooked some of the most delicious food. My mother was a treasure, and I loved to roam around the kitchen when she started rattling those pots and pans. I can close my eyes and still smell that bacon frying in a big ole cast iron frying pan. She had a large family so she didn't play around with small servings! She would mix up a cornbread mix faster than I can wink my eye and soon the cast iron pans would be full of cornbread batter and handmade biscuits. She would have tomato gravy simmering on the stove along with a big pot of grits. Yummy to the tummy!
We had a large table right next to the kitchen and soon that table would be filled with all the delicious scrumptious foods she cooked. Whether it was breakfast, dinner, as we called lunch, or supper, the table was always filled with the food my mom tenderly and lovingly cooked, and as I grew older I realized this was her amazing way of showing the tremendous love she had for her family. I started calling our family table a "table of love", La Mesa Amour.
