About the Author

Dorene Marcus Corothers is a native New Yorker and the second youngest of six children. She grew up living with the hardship of food insecurities. These childhood difficulties would not dissuade her from aiming and achieving many goals as an adult. Dorene appreciates many genres of music. She can wake up to Gospel and end the day with R&B. She also enjoys traveling. Seeking a better life for her daughter she left New York City in 1987 and made El Paso, Texas their adoptive home.
