About the Author

I began my journey as a professional photographer in 2013, transitioning from a 26-year active-duty career in the US Navy to pursuing my long-held passion for photography. With a solid foundation as a hobbyist and a background in graphic design, I was well-prepared to make this shift. My professional career includes a significant role in book design for a federal government press, where I honed my skills in visual storytelling and design. I've been a Canon photographer from the start, expanding my photography skills with various cameras and techniques over the years. In 2015, I developed my skills by integrating artificial lighting into my style. I went through a few brands of strobes and eventually landed on Westcott. This evolution has enabled me to create more dynamic and compelling images, significantly enhancing the quality of my work. Today, I specialize in portraits, headshots, sports photography, and athlete portraits (sportraits), while also occasionally undertaking creative projects driven by personal vision. My commercial work spans real estate and product photography, where I strive to deliver high-quality results. By selectively accepting projects, I ensure a win-win outcome for both my clients and myself. Balancing my professional endeavors, I am supported by my wife, Ashley, a healthcare professional, and our two sons: our oldest, Christian, born in 1999 and currently a professional mixed martial artist, and our youngest, Gabriel, born in 2005 who is a college student. Our family is completed by our pup, Bruno.
