About the Author

Cheryn Salazar is the author of two books: this one which is her personal story and recovery process with trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), and her other book "What's Happening To My Child? A Guide For Parents Of Hair Pullers" which is for parents/relatives of hair pullers. Cheryn is owner of Cheryn International (cheryn.com) and The Wig Emporium (thewigemporium.com) which offer specialized products to aid in restoring a feeling of beauty and normalcy to those who experience any kind of hair loss. Cheryn is also a founding member of The Trichotillomania Learning Center (trich.org) and founder of Trich World (trichworld.com), a social network for those with trichotillomania. Cheryn has four children, two which have dealt with trichotillomania and are now in recovery. She volunteers her time offering workshops addressing self-esteem issues and make-up application techniques to provide a natural appearance for those who experience hair, eyelash and eyebrow loss.
