Yet I Will Joy: Poems of Faith and Hope
"Dreams are thoughts within my mind Of things that might now be. But hope is written in God's Word Of what shall surely be." Our worldly dreams will not satisfy the emptiness of a longing, hurting soul. Only an enduring hope found in God satisfies the soul with joy and purpose. This collection of poems takes one on a journey in which eyes of faith and hope view idols, foes, and struggles along the path. Then these eyes fully open to behold the sweet joy, love, and peace found in faith and hope rooted in God. The conviction of this faith and hope is heralded in "Yet I Will Joy": "Though the day of trouble comes . . . / Yet I will joy in the Lord God of my salvation." Faith and hope bring the "Sweet Joy" of a life lived in the call of the Lord God. "The Calling of the Princess" vividly pictures the high king seeking a bride for his prince. The messenger goes forth throughout the land calling for a bride, a princess, for his son. Who will answer the call?

About the Author

Valerie Graham lives in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband of forty-plus years. She has a passion for communicating biblical truth. After twenty-four years employed with a telecommunications company, she retired and now volunteers with various Christian ministries. She writes poetry to express her faith, hope, and joy in life. Her prayer is that her poems will reflect the faith and hope in Jesus Christ, who alone can comfort hurting hearts.

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

“Through these beautiful poems of faith and hope, Valerie Graham shares aspects of her personal Christian journey. Each poem is filled with biblical truth that points us to the Savior. As you identify with her thoughts, feelings, and emotions, you will then rejoice and join her in praising God for His mercy, grace, love, and faithfulness. What a wonderful book of poetry for your own encouragement and as a gift for loved ones.”

—Shirley Crowder, author of Glimpses of Prayer

“In her new book, Yet I Will Joy, Valerie Graham expresses, through beautifully written poems, God's lasting hope that blesses us—His followers—with purpose, joy, and fulfillment. She shows how the pseudo-treasures, in which this broken world places so much value, give little satisfaction when compared to God's treasures: love and peace, joy and hope, purpose and belief in His unfailing promises. I highly recommend this book, for it is a joy to read, and it will teach and encourage its reader.”

—Denise George, author of I Am My Sister’s Keeper
