Overview

Johnny Hale is a young man that knows what he wants out of life but hasn't found it. His journey will take him to a salty fishing village in Florida where he will learn that with hardships comes satisfaction. He masters from the old Captain Jim Larson how to be self sustainable from the Gulf of Mexico and respect the deep waters that can give life as well as take it away. He learns from his wayward boat mate Big Barry Schlostic that rewards in life are often the simple things; and he learns from the women in his life that the heart sometimes must hurt before it endures true love.
"The seasons changed and Johnny was learning the patterns of a shrimper's life. Captain Larson took Johnny under his wing and began to show him the finer aspects of being a shrimp boat captain. Others saw this integrity in Johnny and he became respected and well liked by many in the small town."

Stefan Kulakowski grew up in Ft. Myers Florida enjoying the salty Gulf of Mexico and the area beaches. He now resides in Tallahassee after attending the Florida State University and getting a Bachelor of Science in Criminology in 1985.
