After a childhood filled with visits to the movies and stories told to him by his mother about its stars, Itai Doron produces work strongly influenced by cinema. Having worked as a visual artist using media as varied as photographs, photo-collages, video, and audio-visual installations, in 2004 he wrote and directed his first short feature film, The Trouble with Thomas Cruise, starring horror-movie legend Linda Hayden.
Itai Doron was born in Tel Aviv in 1967. Following his graduation from Goldsmiths College of Art, London, in 1993, he exhibited at the White Cube Gallery in London, and concurrently showed a series of his large-scale installations at Canary Wharf. Doron has since participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in the United Kingdom, Europe, Japan, Israel and the United States. He lives and works in London.
