About the Author

Q: When did you start writing?

A: I’ve been making up stories and poems since I was able to hold a pen but only in my forties was I able to make it my full-time career.

Q: What do you write?

A: Mainly dark psychological thriller novels. But I also have a memoir, two collections of poetry, a short story collection and four how-to books for writing.

Q: What do other writers say about you?

A: That my books and courses offer an accessible and supportive route to writers who have a dream to achieve. Also, that I’m an inspirational and motivating teacher of creative writing.

Q: What’s the best thing about being a writer?

A: My lovely readers. AND being part of an awesome community of writers. Hearing from readers and other writers absolutely makes my day!

Q: Who are you and where are you from?

A: A born ‘n’ bred Yorkshire lass, with two grown up sons and a Sproodle called Molly. (Springer/Poodle!) The last decade has been the best: I’ve done an MA in Creative Writing, made writing my full time job, and found the happy-ever-after that doesn’t exist in my writing - after marrying for the second time just before the pandemic.

Q: I want to write a book. Can you help me?

A: I certainly can. I offer four creative writing courses to help you write a novel, a book of short stories, a poetry collection, or your life story. These in-depth courses can be taken online over a year, or there is the option to purchase a distilled version of each of them in book form.

Q: What qualifies you to deliver courses on creative writing?

A: I have a teaching degree and a Masters in Creative Writing. I also enjoy a large and regular readership for the books I have written and favourable reviews of my work.
