WORDS OF LIFE is written by Major Beverly Ivany. She holds BAs in English and Music and an MA in Theological Studies. She is also an expert pianist. Beverly and her husband David have served various appointments with the Salvation Army in their homeland, Canada. Beverly is the author of Kid Talk, Teen Talk and Mentorship.

Words of Life is written by Major Evelyn Merriam. Primarily educated in the USA, she received her high school diploma in Kobe, Japan, a degree in education from Eastern Nazarene College, her officer's commission from The Salvation Army's training college in New York, and a degree in writing from Manhattanville College. Evelyn and her husband have worked with The Salvation Army for more than 35 years, five of them in Japan. They live in New York's Hudson Valley.
