Overview

Words of Life; this ebook is a compilation of 30 blog posts, from my blog 'Words of Life'. There is a variety of subjects to encourage Christians with short devotions and thoughts gleaned from the Scriptures. Subjects range from the fivefold name of Immanuel; short studies in the Book of Ruth; lessons from Hannah, Samuel the prophet and Eli the high priest. Also subjects such as sorrow, silence, peace and several others are touched on.

We live in days of uncertainty, with financial stress in many countries. More and more people are out of work. We need the encouragement found in the Scriptures. I have always been encouraged by the words of King David in Psalm 37:25, "I have been young and now I am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread." It is my earnest desire that your faith will be exercised and that our God will be given His due glory as a result.

I am a retired male nurse, married with three grown up sons, who have all left home to pursue their own interests in life. My wife and I moved from Toowoomba in south east Queensland in October 2015 to Brookfield a suburb in Brisbane Queensland (QLD). We made the move to be closer to family. Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland. Queensland is famous for the Gold Coast and the Great Barrier Reef. Brisbane is situated on the Brisbane River and is known as the 'River City'. It is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city. I am a Christian and I fellowship with like minded Christians. I enjoy writing, reading my Bible and Christian books. I tend to read non-fiction books in my spare time. My interests are my family, writing, bible study, beach walking, car touring, gospel preaching and bible teaching.
