INTRODUCTION

WORD JUDGE USA, The Complete American English Word List for Popular Word Games Approved by WGPO (Word Game Players Organization), is a compilation of words playable in popular word games such as internet Super Scrabble® through thepixiepit.co.uk, standard Scrabble,® www.ISC.ro, and many others. Words with 2-9, 10-15, and 16-21 letters are included, acceptable to play in clubs and tournaments throughout the North American Continent (Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America), and English-speaking countries including Israel, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Thailand. The Superscrabble Club games necessitated this compilation, because the players favor the Super Scrabble® game board (21x21 squares with 200 tiles in the bag), and which has the space for playing words from 2 to 21 letters. The inflected forms of verbs, plural of nouns, comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs are included. Proper nouns and abbreviations are not included, except when a proper noun such as John has another meaning; therefore, the word "JOHN" is included, so with "MARYJANE" which means marijuana. WORD JUDGE USA does not include the meaning and origin of words. It mainly serves as an adjudicator when a challenge occurs during a game. If there is a need to know the meaning, please refer to a complete dictionary, encyclopedia, or search it in the internet.

WORD JUDGE USA is the only existing reference word list available to Superscrabble Club players, should a challenge occurs involving long words beyond the 15-letter-word range. During a Superscrabble Club game, players can extend a short word, and be able to play a 16- to 21-letter word. Example: ACCLIMATIZATION, in its singular form is "acceptable" during a standard Scrabble® game, but making it plural by adding an S makes it "unacceptable" because it has exceeded the perimeter of 15 letters. CHEMOLITHOTROPHIC is a 17-letter word; it cannot be played in a standard Scrabble®, but it can be played using a Super Scrabble® game board, albeit in multiple steps. The Superscrabble Club games are "brain games" to rejuvenate the brain cells. It is recommended to do it on a regular basis.

Bonus lists of 2- to 3-letter words at the end of most sections are included depending on the available space. All of the 2- to 15-letter words are verified for acceptability using either the CheckWord app by Mick West or the Zyzzyva app by Michael Thelen. All words with 16 to 21 letters are verified, thoroughly researched, and validated for existence and acceptability in the English language using various sources in the internet, and from numerous dictionaries and encyclopedias. There are long words in which the plural form is not listed in the main list, i.e., ABDOMINOHYSTERECTOMY; pluralization makes it a 22-letter word. For the curious, long words containing 22+ or more letters are listed in the Appendix.

PLAYING LONG WORDS IN MULTIPLE STEPS

The opportunity to score high is amazing due to the numerous premium squares, including quadruple letter and quadruple word values. For example, several words are found in STRAIGHTFORWARDNESSES, a 21-letter word. Here's a breakdown: AR, OR, FOR, WARD, FORWARD, NESS, ESS, ES, STRAIGHT, RAI, and NE. You may start with FOR or WARD in the middle; FOR+WARD+NESS = FORWARDNESS; adding ES to FORWARDNESS pluralizes it to FORWARDNESSES. The probability of an H hanging left side of the F with a space in between looks remote, but possible. STRAIGHT in front of FORWARDNESSES makes STRAIGHTFORWARDNESSES (21 letters; the blank tile represents the letter H). It's a rare occurrence, but it can happen. The Superscrabble Club game is not about accumulating high scores, but it's good to see that the resultant score is usually higher compared to playing a standard Scrabble® game. This is due to the premium spots with double, triple, and quadruple scores (both for letters and words). The purpose of this game is to exercise our brain cells to adapt to the incredible new ways of the 21st Century. Not to win lots of money at a tournament, but to achieve and maintain brain acuity. Brain cells must constantly face new and innovative ways of doing things. The challenges of more complicated things to do in this century are imposed upon everyone including word game players. The games at a Superscrabble Club can truly test an individual's mental endurance by building up words starting with two or three letters in order to reach the goal of finding the coveted 16- to 21-letter words, albeit in multiple steps. Playing word games, particularly Scrabble,® exposes children and adults how to spell words correctly. It also sharpens the arithmetic knowledge, because each player is required to mentally add, multiply, and provide the total score of each move.
