Since this English version will naturally go to the hands of Non-Muslims too, therefore I, taking advantage of this opportunity, have made some additions and improvements keeping in view the misconceptions in the minds of Non-Muslims about Islam. The main purpose of this book is to bring true facts on record and not to convince anybody to convert.
Some critics are regularly propagating the impression that Islam usurped the rights of women and imposed restrictions on their freedom. This propaganda appears to be serving its purpose and some Muslim women are easily influenced by this misconception. They feel that their rights are really less than western women. This is definitely incorrect.
Due to above reasons, some Muslim women who are not yet aware of their real rights in Islamic society, stand up and join such negative-sponsored movements. They either voice their demands for freedom, equal to western women or start feeling psychological backwardness.
This depressive impression has absolutely no basis. Muslim women, in actual sense, have better rights. Some of them are, of course, easily misguided. But if this situation is thoroughly studied, it would transpire that such misguided women alone are not responsible for this state of affairs. Our male-influenced society is also one of the reasons. I hope the readers can understand the desire of some, not all, male elements in the society regarding female gender.
