Kate Merker has been the Food & Nutrition Director of Woman's Day since August 2010. Merker has been professionally immersed in the food industry for over ten years, but grew up in the kitchen (her grandparents owned a restaurant in Queens, NY). She graduated first in her class at the Culinary Institute of America, and then worked as a line cook at Bayard's, a classic French restaurant in lower Manhattan, and New York City's famous Gotham Bar and Grill. She has also produced food segments for television.
