About the Author

Daniel Simmons retired as a Colonel from the United States Air Force in 2003. He spent most of his career as a KC-135 pilot in air refueling operations. From 2005 to 2012, he served as the civilian historian in the 92nd Air Refueling Wing at Fairchild Air Base near Spokane, Washington. He lives in Springfield, Oregon with his wife Wendi.
