About the Author

Kris Girrell – Now in his third marriage, Kris has over three decades of married life experience – nearly two-thirds of which successfully in his current and last-ever. Figuring the first two marriages taught the hard lessons, Kris’ present marriage “works because we work it!” He first got involved in men’s work in 1979, and has led workshops and been a member of a men’s team/circle ever since. In his day job, Kris is an Executive Leadership Coach with a consulting firm in Boston, MA. He is the author of a book and many articles in his profession, contributes regularly to local papers with op-ed commentary and actively blogs on several topics. At the age of 60 has re-entered college for yet another degree, this time in the field of Theology.
Kris lives with his wife and 12-year-old son in Andover, MA and has two married adult daughters and two grand-children.

David Plante first engaged in Men’s Work in 1999. He has held many positions of leadership within local and regional men’s groups. Dave has taught men’s growth and development classes, has led teams and groups in charitable projects and been a major force in eastern Massachusetts.
Dave is married and has been with the same woman for 22 years this past October. As the father of 3 children, Dave’s passion here has always been trying to understand what a successful family and marriage looks like.

Simply put, without this guide it is impossible to have a great marriage in a way that both a wife and a husband really wanted when they got married. Just ask yourself is your wife's happiness, (of course your happiness becomes a no brainer here) the success of your marriage and the lessons your children will learn from how you will interact with your wife worth $15.00. I would guess yes, or at least I hope the answer is yes. Just buy the book it is GREAT!

After I read Dave and Kris's book, I gained a deeper understanding of her as a woman and how I can be a better husband. There were some interesting surprises including getting to a point where you do not NEED your wife. One should get to a point where you CHOOSE her. What makes your wife feel better than "It is as if you could have any woman in the entire world, and you chose her" (Page 65;)

This book says it all - whether you are a woman or a man. Yes, we know it was written for men, however it applies to women too! Being a woman, I laughed out loud at some of the situations described and could easily relate, having experienced many of the same situations myself. Kris and Dave are insightful and even a little irreverent at times. They get their point across succinctly and often with great humor. As men and women, we are different with different needs and this book helps men........
