Who Was the Angel of the LORD?
Certain individuals in the Old Testament saw God -- and they lived to tell about it. Yet John insists, "No man has seen God at any time" (John 1:18); and God warned Moses, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!" (Exodus 33:20) A contradiction? How is this possible? To answer these questions, we must look to a unique being called the Angel of the LORD.

Was he Gabriel? No. Michael? Not even close! Vastly more powerful than any rank of angelic being, the Angel of the LORD personally represented God Himself.

But who *was* the Angel of the LORD? What was his identity and why was he unique? Jim Kerwin provides us with a fascinating and thorough Bible study on this powerful and mysterious being from the Old Testament. Along the way, you'll pick up several valuable "tools" for understanding the Old Testament. And you'll come to some surprising insights on how the Bible uses the word "angel." The logical progression of biblical evidence will bring the reader to what may be a surprising answer to the question posed -- "Who Was the Angel of the LORD?"

About the Author

Through over four decades of pastoring, writing, and teaching at home and abroad, Jim Kerwin's calling and credentials as a gifted Bible teacher have been established in the hearts of his growing audience. In the unique tapestry of his ministry can be found influential threads from early Methodism, Wesleyan holiness, and the Pentecostal and charismatic movements. Dedicated to "rightly dividing" the divinely inspired Scripture of truth, and to faithfully presenting God and His truth to his listeners, Jim's goal is to always minister in "the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him" (Ephesians 1:17). Jim holds a Master's degree in Biblical studies from Regent University's School of Divinity.

Jim is the founder and president of Finest of the Wheat Teaching Fellowship, a non-profit ministry that focuses its resources on "teaching God’s Text, in context, without pretext," with a special emphasis on training pastors and leaders on the mission fields of Central America and eastern Europe.

Many of Jim's Bible-teaching articles and audios appear on the FinestOfTheWheat.org website. In addition, he hosts the Kernels of Wheat Podcast on the KernelsOfWheat.com website, where his blog posts also appear. As the conservator of the works of his mentor, P.H.P. ("Percy") Gutteridge, Jim issues the Grains from Gutteridge Podcast, as well as occasional Gutteridge articles from transcripts.
