About the Author

Carol Bendo is a lover and keeper of many animals; some with fur, some with feathers and many with fins.

One of her passions is her koi pond. Carol has been a pond keeper for well over 15 years and has enjoyed breeding and keeping koi of all varieties. She was encouraged to write this book by fellow koi keepers who marveled at one particular koi she owned- a koi that lost his tail when he got caught in the pond's filter system. His injury was so severe, Waddles wasn't expected to survive the night. Well, he did and he continues to thrive- all without a tail.

What a wonderful message of courage that Waddles sends to children who read his story. This message of hope and perseverance is perfect for children of all ages who might struggle with a disability.
