Who Killed The Party?: An Invitation to Die For

When the enigmatic and fabulously wealthy Gregory Hamilton throws one of his legendary parties at his sprawling estate, the who's who of high society eagerly accepts the invitation. Known for his eccentric flair and penchant for drama, Gregory promises an unforgettable evening filled with opulence, mystery, and unexpected twists. But no one is prepared for just how unforgettable—and deadly—the night will turn out to be.

As the evening unfolds, the guests find themselves drawn into Gregory's web of secrets, each harboring their own hidden agendas and past grievances. Among them is Diana Reed, a sharp-witted detective with a talent for solving puzzles and a thirst for adventure. Invited under mysterious circumstances, Diana senses that something is off from the moment she steps through the grand entrance. Her instincts are confirmed when Gregory is discovered dead, slumped over his desk, with a sinister smile on his face and an ostrich quill stabbed into his neck. The room quickly transforms from a scene of revelry to one of suspicion and fear, as it's clear that the murderer is among them.

Locked inside the mansion with no way out, Diana and her unlikely ally, the charming yet infuriating investigative journalist Mark Landon, must navigate a maze of red herrings, hidden motives, and carefully concealed lies. As the night progresses, tensions rise, alliances shift, and the line between friend and foe blurs. With every clue uncovered and every secret revealed, Diana gets closer to unmasking the killer—but also closer to becoming the next target.

Who Killed the Party?: An Invitation to Die For is a witty, fast-paced mystery that combines the classic charm of a whodunit with a modern twist. Full of eccentric characters, sharp dialogue, and unexpected humor, this novel invites readers to an evening of suspense and intrigue, where everyone is a suspect and nothing is as it seems. About the Author

Michael J. McDermott's life reads like an epic novel, filled with adventure, resilience, and a dash of serendipity. Born in 1949 at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Mike's childhood was marked by frequent relocations across the United States following his father's assignments. These early
and enduring the Vietnam experiences instilled in him adaptability and boundless curiosity about the world. As he grew older, Michael's journey of personal discovery led him from Anaheim, California to Detroit, Michigan, to Richland, Washington, and finally to Perris, California, where he met his lifelong partner, Faye, in a chance encounter that sparked a five-decade love story full of twists and joyful moments.

Michael's career reflects his deep commitment to both service and scholarship. After enlisting in the US Marine Corps in 1967 and enduring the Vietnam conflict, his military service continued with the California Army National Guard and the US Army, culminating after Desert Storm. Concurrently, he pursued academic achievements, earning a law diploma, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology, and a Master's and Doctorate in Theology and Eschatology in his late 60's. His transition to writing transformed a leisurely hobby into a fervent passion, producing works like "Divine Journey: Moments with the Savior" and "From Rebellion To Nation: The Flame Of Liberty" which engage readers with spirituality, history, and imagination.

After his military and entrepreneurial endeavors, Michael found his calling in serving the disabled and elderly, dedicating over two decades to this noble cause. He finds joy in the simplicity of everyday moments, whether hosting family barbecues, enjoying evenings with Faye and their dogs, or indulging in movie nights. Michael's life is a testament to courage, change, and the power of dreams, making him a beacon to those who dare to explore, love, and imagine beyond the boundries of the known.
