Who are the Heirs of the Abrahamic Covenant?
Evangelicals debate the answer to the question, ""Who are the heirs of the Abrahamic covenant?"" This book offers a brief summary of the major evangelical approaches to the covenant, an exegesis of the covenant, and a discussion on some of the hermeneutical issues related to the interpretation of the covenant. In this book, the Abrahamic covenant is viewed as God's answer to the failures of Gen 1-11. In those chapters, the seed of mankind became corrupted through the fall, the land was cursed with a consequent loss of man's dominion over it, and the divine-human relationship was ruptured. The Abrahamic covenant restores to all of believing mankind, regardless of ethnicity, the promise of seed, land, and divine-human relationship.

About the Author

John P. Davis is the Lead Pastor of Grace Church of Philly. He has been preaching and teaching the Bible for over forty-five years. While working on his ThM at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, John was challenged to reexamine his dispensational hermeneutic and his eschatology.

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

“Davis has produced an updated study of the Abrahamic covenant from the vantage point of traditional covenant theology. . . . John has given us a good foundation for what might come next, especially in light of the present conflicts in the Middle East. It is important for Christians to be able to parse the variety of views proposed by scholars as to how the land and people of Israel fit into the greater purposes of God.”

—Mitch Glaser, President, Chosen People Ministries

“Long-held and cherished beliefs are not easily surrendered. John’s journey out of dispensationalism was imposed on him by his study of Scripture. Although he changed a doctrinal position in light of a more consistent hermeneutic, he remains committed to the unchanging nature of God’s infallible and inerrant word and generous toward those with whom he disagrees. The question he asks in this book’s title is important for all believers to consider.”

—Stephen M. Davis, Elder, Grace Church of Philly
