CHAPTER 1

In the big red bar, all the animals were getting ready for dinner. Susie Spider was weaving her web in the corner when she overheard the pigs talking.

"I'm so hungry I could eat a horse," said Peter the Pig.

"Nooo! It isn't a horse, it's a cow!" said Patty the Pig.

"Yeah a cow!" all the pigs exclaimed.

So without hearing the rest of the conversation, Susie went to go tell Henry the Hawk.

"Henry, you won't believe it, the pigs are planning to eat Calvin Coq!" said Susie.

"I don't believe it- Are you sure?" asked Henry.

Susie replied, "I'm positive. I heard it with my own ears." Then Susie and Henry began to argue.

"Nu-uh!" said Henry.

"Yeah-huh!" refuted Susie.

Then Henry the Hawk decided he wanted to see for himself.

So Susie climbed on to Henry's back and they flew to the barnyard to look for Calvin Cow and warn him of the danger he was in.

Along the way, Henry sang.

"Oh where oh, where has our lil' cow gone, Oh where oh where can he be?"

When flying past the pigpen, he saw the pigs huddled over something and eating it.
