Overview

This 32-page book is a wonderful way to introduce science and nature to children. The three main characters in this book are Priti, a proton; Ning, a neuton; and Ellie, an electron. Together, they form The EnteleTrons®.



One day, the world of The EnteleTrons® has changed. What has happened? Then the team discovers the reason - the color green is missing! Where could it have gone?



It’s Priti, Ning and Ellie’s task to find out what has happened, and why. Eventually they decide to ask the remaining colors of the rainbow if they know where green could have gone, and the truth transpires. Through an engaging story, children start to learn in an easily-understood manner about science, nature, colors, rainbows, and prisms, plus the value of cooperation within a group.



The back pages contain The EnteleLab®, a fun workshop where The EnteleTrons® find necessary tools to solve the problem. Also included are website links for activities and supplementary learning resources. However, there is much more to this book - woven in the pages are important life lessons about working together and respect for others, plus many examples of alliteration.



Young people will love helping The EnteleTrons® figure out where Green went, while exploring the visible spectrum in a prism. Through character interaction, The EnteleTrons® show everyone the value of cooperation.

About the Author

Renée is the proud parent of three children and six grandchildren. Her passion for teaching and learning has helped her become an award-winning children's author. As a retired teacher of child development for 25 years, Renée has earned many honors and accolades. She was the 1997 New Jersey Family Consumer Sciences Teacher of the Year. In 2008, she was honored as a Baldwin fellow at the University of Wisconsin at Madison for a Nanotechnology Meets Biotechnology conference. She has been an instructor for the Institute of Children's Literature and is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Renee's hobbies include philanthropic sewing, crossword puzzles, painting, mosaics, and developing lessons for currently-employed teachers. She lives in a rural area of New Jersey with her husband, Doug.

Gary has successfully raised two boys to whom he has instilled a love of life, sports and citizenship. Traditionally trained as a pharmacist, Gary has always sought to make his mark on whatever he undertook. His ongoing quest for learning and knowledge has provided him some amazing opportunities in his life. With his scientific and business background, Gary has had many executive positions where he helped promote critical thinking, innovation and creativity. He has helped leading companies excel in strategic planning, sales, and domestic/global business development. His tenure of 20 years as a high school and college basketball referee, has helped him impart the values of discipline, camaraderie and teamwork in children and young adults. Gary is an active inventor and educator and his hobbies include cycling, tennis and reading. He lives in Maryland with his wife Pat and dog Dover.

Fay Cofrancesco runs her own design and illustration firm: Fluid Marketing, in Maryland. A native of upstate NY, Fay transferred to Baltimore in 2003 on a scholarship, completing her BFA in Illustration from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2005, and later completed her MBA in 2011. Fay's experience ranges from natural science illustration, to print, publishing, and electronic media production in various industries.

Everyone loves the sight of rainbow and the glowing colors they bring. This book is a wonderful way to introduce the colors of the rainbow and how they are made up for your young reader. It is written in a fun way for the children to understand and gives meaning and discovery about working together as a team. Charming book that brings a smile! "Now you know what makes a rainbow: RAIN, COLORS--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and SUNSHINE!" I like the way they suggested they ask others; this shows parents that sometimes it is best to allow your child to answer his/her *own* questions instead of telling them the answers--Stimulate their Imagination and Inquisitiveness! We can learn SO MUCH from others. I love the way this concept shines throughout the story. Great job all around Heiss, Stewart and Cofrancesco--now THIS is Teamwork! The tale is very simple and charming, and the illustrations are great, so that kids of all ages will love it. I highly recommend this book for any boy or girl.
