About the Author

Buck (his nickname shortened from "Buckaroo") is a rascal-minded male cockatiel. Buck "hides" in clever places, and whisper-whistles until Marlene, his human mom, finds him. She'd take a picture of his "hiding place" and share the photo with friends.

Buck's story of his joy of playing hide-and-seek was inspired by Chris Kuschel, Buck's first human mother, who appears in this book with his bird mother, Scooter.

Marlene created the illustrations from her photos, designed this book, and created "Where is Buck?"—a day in Buck’s playful life—for readers of all ages to enjoy.
