Overview

When Every Day Matters, A Mother's Memoir On Love, Loss And Life is a first person narrative which addresses the questions, "Are you feeling hopeless because you have lost someone close to you, particularly a child? Do you need to feel someone else understands your loss? Do you need to find some peace and hope again?" Do you wish family, friends and others would respond differently to your pain?

In this intimate, deeply personal, spiritual and psychological memoir, Mary Jane Hurley Brant, a practicing psychotherapist for 31 years, candidly addresses the loss of her daughter, Katie, who died after battling a brain tumor for 28 years. Mary Jane, who specializes in grief and loss professionally, understands personally the impact that the loss of a beloved child has upon a mother, father and family because she has been there. This book addresses the trauma of loss on the soul and how it unleashes original family of origin wounds and issues within a family system. In this book you will read reflections and gain deep insight and practical suggestions into how to proceed in the aftermath of child loss. You will also learn how to manage your suffering on a day-to-day basis.

We all know that after a devastating loss the journey to recovery is a lonely one. Now you don’t have to walk your path alone. The message of hope, the insightful "Looking Back Reflections" in When Every Day Matters will comfort your heart and soul, body and mind. Sarah Ban Breathnach, author of the hugely successful Simple Abundance and publisher of Simple Abundance Press and When Every Day Matters, believes this powerful book will become a classic on the grief journey, "MJ Hurley Brant's book is a gift of grace. For those who are hurting, a spiritual blessing awaits in between every line. There's solace and genuine wisdom here."

Larry Kirshbaum, Former Chairman/CEO of Time-Warner Book Group and Publishers Weekly 05 Person of the Year says, "This is a book that will break your heart and put it back together again. This is the story of a daughter who wouldn't give up and a mother who never lost faith. The reader can't help but be inspired by the indomitable human spirit that resides within Mary Jane Brant."
