CHAPTER 1

Johnny loves everything about Christmas. He loves all the food he gets to eat. He loves when all the family comes over and they sing Christmas Carols and play games.

But most of all, he loves the great gifts that he gets each year.

As he was basking in the joy of getting all the gifts he wanted and just enjoying the whole Christmas spirit, he happened to see through the window a bright shining star.

It was the biggest, brightest star he had ever seen.

"Wow!" he said, "Look everyone. Look at that big, bright star!"

"That's the Christmas star," said Father, "it's rarely ever seen. I haven't seen it since I was your age."

"You know Johnny" said Mother, "they say if you make a wish upon the Christmas star, your wish will surely come true."

"I know what I want to wish for" said Johnny.

"No more gifts," said Mother, "why don't you think about it some more and make your wish later?"

Mother knew him so well. He was going to wish for more gifts.

"Okay then," he said "I'll think some more and come up with the best wish ever!"

That night when he was alone in his bed, he looked out the window at the Christmas star and thought some more about what he should wish for. Mother said no more gifts, he thought. But that's what he wanted, more than anything else.

He then thought about how wonderful Christmas was. He thought about how he couldn't wait for Christmas to come around each year. He thought about how boring the other days of the year were compared to Christmas.

"THAT'S IT!" he shouted as he ran to the window.

Johnny stared up at the Christmas star and then closed his eyes then made his wish.

"I wish that Christmas was everyday!"

He opened his eyes and looked around but nothing looked different.

"I know!" he said, "When I wake up in the morning I'll see if it's Christmas again."

He went to bed that night without any fuss.
