Overview

Don't let your toxic relationship with your sibling destroy your mind, body, and soul!
When sibling relationships turn toxic, there are signs to recognize when it's time to separate and set boundaries. This serious step may seem scary, almost like a betrayal, especially in families whose culture demands loyalty. But shared blood should never mean you should tolerate abuse. Blood is not always thicker than water.

When you are trapped in a toxic and stifling environment you alter your identity for survival. You bury the true parts of yourself, the personality traits, that allow you to shine and you tamp down your flame. No one should ever pretend to be someone that they are not. It is soul-crushing.

This is my story. It is not unlike any of your stories of toxic relationships. In this book, I share my lived experience, how I managed to endure, and how I got out of a toxic relationship with my sibling.

About the Author

Elisabetta Bannerman is a fictitious name being used to mask the identity of this author. She chooses to remain anonymous due to the indelible trauma of the toxic relationship she’s experienced since 2010. She has authored two other eBooks and a journal in addition to this memoir.

Sometimes, stories go untold, not because they are indescribable, they are heavy for the mouths to say and the minds to comprehend. Being with toxic siblings has made the author pen down this memoir. With emotional inclinations, she narrated her ordeal of ten years of emotional trauma with a toxic sibling. One may wonder about the brain behind such a memoir, but in another context, one will reason that there is no fire without a veil of smoke. She might reveal her identity someday, but until then, she is a first-generation Italian-American woman who loves her family very much. She is a wife to an amazing gentleman, a mom to two wonderful kids, and a science teacher to exceptional high school students in New York City.

Although she reached the peak of her tolerance to abuse, she has not reached her peak in life and is using her first memoir, When Blood Is Not Thicker Than Water: A Memoir On Leaving A Toxic Sibling Relationship, as a steppingstone to healing and wholeness.
