Overview

The cost of prescription drugs has gone through the roof, and many have side effects that are worse than the actual condition they are treating. To make things worse we have no idea what the long-term health effects will be for many of these medications. Even over the counter drugs (OTCs) can be expensive. The good news is you may have some highly effective medicine readily available to you right in your own backyard. Making your own medicine with what's available in your area is affordable and rewarding. Making your own medicine helps build self-efficacy and a sense of independence. You will gain confidence, save money, get back in touch with nature and even heal your spirit. What's in your backyard is a book about herbal remedies that has something for everyone. A lot of people think that you have to live in the woods to have access to herbal remedies. However, this simply isn't so. Most folks live in cities or suburbs and are unaware of the herbal remedies that could be lurking in their very own backyard. And if you don't have a backyard, you would be surprised to learn that many medicinal herbs are available in a park near you or maybe even an abandoned field. This book will help you identify what medicinal herbs grow in your area and how to use them. This book will also show you what medicinal herbs you can use to treat everything from heartburn to diabetes. And you will learn how to make your very own salves, tinctures, decoctions, and much more. An amazing adventure awaits you and it all begins with what's in your backyard.
