About the Author

Cindy Similien is an award-winning Haitian-American author, cultural ambassador, and community advocate. Her life's motto is: “Live to love; work to improve the lives of others; and create a legacy.”

She studied English Literature and Creative Writing at Barnard College-Columbia University. She currently serves as the Communications Director for the United Nations Association-Brooklyn Chapter, bringing awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals, including "Zero Hunger." She is also a member of Equity at the Table (EATT), an initiative that addresses racial and gender discrimination in the food industry, creating more equity and accessibility to opportunities.
