On a beautiful day in May, Casey the Gorilla decides to do something extraordinary. Using his amazing strength, he jumps to the top of the wall in his outdoor exhibit and takes a walk around the zoo.
Join Casey on this wonderful adventure as he visits with giraffes, polar bears, lions, tigers, and other zoo animals. Along the way, Casey has some delicious snacks at the food stand, tries on shirts and hats in the gift shop, and is treated to a special show by Sparky the performing Sea Lion. Casey even finds a radio and you won't believe what happens!

This story is based on the actual escape of a gorilla named Casey in 1994 at Como Zoo in St. Paul, Minnesota. Louie DiSanto, who was a keeper at Como Zoo for over twenty years, was the first person on the scene when Casey got out and alerted the rest of the staff, who quickly escorted visitors to safety. Casey then took a short walk through the zoo before returning to the gorilla exhibit on his own. The escape made news around the world and turned Casey into quite a celebrity.
