About the Author

Gabrielle David is a multidisciplinary artist, author, editor and a published poet. She is the publisher of 2Leaf Press, an imprint of the Intercultural Alliance of Artists & Scholars, Inc. (IAAS), a NY-based nonprofit organization which she founded in 2000 and has served as executive director since its inception.

Sean Frederick Forbes is a professor, scholar and published poet. He teaches creative writing and poetry, and is the director of the creative writing program at the University of Connecticut. He currently serves as a board member of the Intercultural Alliance of Artists & Scholars, Inc. (IAAS), and is the poetry and nonfiction reader for the journal WESTVIEW published by Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

Debby Irving, author of the acclaimed book WAKING UP WHITE, AND FINDING MYSELF IN THE STORY OF RACE (2014), is a racial justice educator who is committed to creating vibrant and productive racially mixed communities and organizations. A graduate of the Winsor School in Boston, she holds a BA from Kenyon College and an MBA from Simmons College.

Tara Betts is an author, award-winning poet and scholar. She holds a PhD in English from Binghamton University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from New England College. A Cave Canem graduate, she was a lecturer in creative writing at Rutgers University and is currently a professor at University of Illinois. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, journals and anthologies and her book, BREAK THE HABIT (Trio House Press), is forthcoming.
