We go through the old testament to discover the different forms of the Hebrew that get translated as "day" and suggest a more appropriate definition. These better definitions shed light on a number of different verses in the Bible and suggest that the beginning of the day as per the Bible is different to what we currently observe. There is a new insight in what may have happened in the Garden of Eden. This is the first part. There will be more parts as we proceed on through the Bible.
