Welcome to Sheol
'Welcome to Sheol' is a Christian fantasy that attempts to imagine what the place of the dead will be like for newcomers. Drawing on facts from the Bible and the author's imagination, an adventure story develops as a band of chosen individuals attempt to thwart evil angels from enslaving human souls. The main character, Griffin, is taught the rules of spirit life by a young Greek woman from the time of Christ who hopes he is the leader they have been waiting on for centuries. His modern knowledge is the missing element they need to accomplish their great task, alluded to by the Voice, their overseer. The great task is a mystery for this unlikely band of heroes to unravel, killers in their former lives, but repurposed by the Voice for their unknown mission. In his process of discovery, Griffin develops an abiding love for his teacher, as she helps him overcome regret for things he did in his former life and encourages his hope that he may yet save his family from a similar fate as his, living in Sheol, a prison for those who rejected the salvation message of Christ.
