About the Author

Little by little God has moved Ashlee from unaware to all in for the precious children in foster care. First in volunteering for many years with CASA, to then following God's call on a journey to become a joyful foster mother and subsequently to pen her first children's book. She and her family have opened their hearts and home to many young children from all types of backgrounds. From her own families experiences she shares a beautiful story of becoming a foster family from her oldest son's eyes. Ashlee resides in Austin, TX with her family.

What People are Saying About This

From the Publisher

“This sweet and encouraging book should be on the bookshelf of every foster home with young children AND all of those who are walking alongside a foster family. Ashlee’s firsthand experience as a foster parent is evident in how she wrote this with little one’s in mind, demystifying the sometimes tricky parts of how we explain foster care to children. It’s a greatly needed resource for kids and families- both inside and outside of the foster care community!”
— Chrystal Smith, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Foster Village
