Overview

Evelyn is on her way to meet her father who is returning home from World War II. While he was away, her mother had been killed and a second frightening event happened which she is terrified for her father to find out. She stands on the back of a ferry, contemplating jumping off into the icy waters and ending everything. She has gone through so much and has learned to be a woman at such a young age. Her thoughts teeter back and forth between jumping and remaining on the boat. She is frightened and worried. Scared and nervous. After all, she is only 14.

About the Author

B.R. Miller has long been a fan of both the written and spoken word. He wrote his first book at the age of 5 (with some help from his mother). He was a member of the prestigious Institute of Literature and has several publications ranging from short stories to poetry to novels. Early on, he was involved in the theater in his church, school, and community. His love of performance only grew as time went on and when he entered college, he majored in Film Production. In 2011, B.R. was diagnosed with Shizoaffective disorder along with several other mental illnesses. He learned to channel his experiences, both the good and the bad, into his works. Since then, he has not only had two number one sellers on Amazon, but is also an advocate for advancement in the mental health field and equality and acceptance for all individuals. B.
